To connect Japanese culture to the future with fewer and fewer bearers
学生団体京都着物企画
Kyoto Kimono Project, a student organization of Kyoto University, will hold "Kikyosai," an event of Japanese culture including kimono, on Saturday, September 13. The event will be created from scratch from the viewpoint of young people in order to pass on the Japanese culture to the next generation, whose bearers are dwindling and whose fate is being feared.

Purpose
In recent years, young people have been wearing kimonos less and less. The number of people who carry on the Japanese culture as a whole is also decreasing. We, Kyoto Kimono Project, as a circle to promote kimono, aim to connect kimono and other Japanese culture to the next generation, not only to those who love Japanese culture, but also to young people who have no connection to Japanese culture. We believe that the Kikkyo Festival will provide opportunities to "see" and "experience" and naturally experience the appeal of Japanese culture, thereby inviting young people to empathize with it from a perspective that only students can provide.
■Project Contents
(1)Kimono fashion show
The theme of the show is "Kimono that colors everyday life. About 40 models will be asked to wear kimonos owned by our organization or borrowed from kimono stores to dress up in a way that incorporates kimonos into one scene in their student life or daily life, presenting a style that young people can feel "I can do it too. You can enjoy kimono coordinating not only for special occasions such as visiting cafes, going out with friends, etc., but also for everyday life to make it a little nicer.
(2) Kimono Sale
Kimonos that are sleeping in wardrobes across the country are given away and passed on to people who want to wear them.
(3)Japanese culture experience booth
Booths for experiencing Japanese culture, such as flower arrangement and calligraphy, and for touching geta and kimono will be set up.
(4)Food and drink stalls
We will create an opportunity for people who are not interested in Japanese culture to participate in the event, and by having university clubs set up stalls, we will encourage university students to become interested in Japanese culture as well.
