一般社団法人日本ストレスリーディングケア協会
The Japan Stress Reading Care Association (JSRA)<Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture/Representative Director: Takako Niimi> began accepting applications for the "Self Stress Reading Care List Course" on July 1 at 21 locations nationwide (*1), four times as many as before, under a new instructor system.
The new course is designed to meet the needs of those who want to learn but don't have time or there are no courses nearby, by offering a course that anyone can start "at home" or "right now" and that is accessible and easy to take. We have created a system that anyone can start "at home" and "right now" and can easily take the course in a familiar environment. The new system enables people to start learning how to live a stress-free life without stress.
Social Background: What is happening in Japan today?
The economic burden caused by stress and mental illness is said to range from 4.8 to 7.6 trillion yen per year (about 1.1% of GDP), and the invisible loss extends to the national scale.
This figure is due to "hidden absenteeism," where people come to work with minor health problems. A nationwide survey conducted by Yokohama City University and the University of Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (covering approximately 27,500 people) also made similar calculations, confirming the seriousness of the stress that is prevalent in society.
In addition, mental illness is particularly prominent among women in their 20s and 30s, which directly correlates to the study's conclusion that early intervention and strengthening of support systems in companies and local governments are necessary, not merely medical care [*2].
Furthermore, according to the 2023 Occupational Health and Safety Survey by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, 82.7% of all workers were "highly stressed" at work, highlighting the reality that an extremely large number of people in Japan's working population are exposed to stress [*2]. This highlights the reality that an extremely large number of people in Japan's working age population are exposed to stress.
These data clearly show "how many people in the working generation are aware of their own health problems, but not enough to go to a hospital," and "the urgent need to provide opportunities for self-care for these problems. The "Stress Reading" is a tool to help people manage their stress and to improve their self-esteem. The first step in this direction is to disseminate the knowledge and skills recommended by Stress Reading to prevent stress from being stored away.

In the six years since our association was established, we have continued to provide stress care from both the mental and physical aspects as therapists specializing in stress care throughout Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. In the process, we have received comments from many people that they wished they had found this method of care sooner and wanted to know more about the care they could provide themselves, and therapists in the field have also expressed a desire to reach more people. This has led to the establishment of an online system and the establishment of a system that allows students to receive practical lectures and care in person at locations throughout Japan.

What is the Stress Reading(R) Method?
Stress Reading(R)" is a unique method that classifies the causes of stress into five categories (mental, physical, lifestyle, food, and environmental), and helps to regulate each of them in three steps ((1) Awareness = Reading, (2) Letting go = Release, and (3) Recovery = Resilience).
