What is "Kyo-no-Tanabata"?
This year, the Kyo-no-Tanabata Festival will be held in various locations in Kyoto as a modern-day version of the Tanabata festival unique to Kyoto, with the promotion of traditional industries and kimono, while taking a fresh look at the significance and traditions of the Tanabata festival, which has been passed down from generation to generation as "once a year to make a wish. Each area of Kyoto will hold its own unique Tanabata festival.

The official website will introduce information on Tanabata events, Tanabata-related products, and special offers on kimono in Kyoto Prefecture. Also, from July 1 (Tue) to August 31 (Sun), "wishes" can be made at "wish boxes" set up in Kyoto Prefecture and at Tanabata events, and the wishes will be delivered to heaven on September 27 (Sat) when they are burned at Kiyomizu Temple.
