Japan India Club, a non-profit organization (Location: Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture; President: Tsuyoshi Miyahara), held its 12th ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in Puri, Odisha, India, on February 9, 2025. Admission is free and open to all, and local people look forward to this event every year.

We have decided to hold the "ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in TOKYO Debriefing Session" on Sunday, June 1, 2025, and have begun accepting applications for attendance.

ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in TOKYO Debriefing Session

The theme is Takoyaki Taiyaki in India! Bon dance!

In order to hold the event, we challenged crowdfunding, and although we did not reach the target amount, the event was successfully held without any accidents by investing all the support money. The takoyaki, taiyaki, and Japanese tea were very popular, as well as the distribution of "underlay sheets" to Indian children.

The Bon Odori dance is one of the most popular festivals in Japan. Both Indian and Japanese people danced in a circle, and the rhythmical and powerful performance of "Soran-bushi," which was performed for the first time this year, attracted the attention of the local people.

While the Indian and Japanese people joined together to eat, dance, and have a good time, enthusiastic volunteers from Japan also gathered on stage, and the crowd that gathered was filled with excitement and enthusiasm for the joint performance by artists from both Japan and India.

The event has become a favorite among local residents, with more and more people becoming interested in the event each year, and this year a total of approximately 8,000 people visited the event.

Outline of "ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in TOKYO Report

The "ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025 in TOKYO Debriefing Session," which will be attended by performers and past performers of the highly successful "ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2025" in India, has been decided and reservations for admission tickets have begun. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be used to fund the operation of "ODISHA JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026" scheduled to be held next year. The number of supporters for this event is increasing every year, albeit gradually.

The event is also introduced in "Chikyu no Arukikata India" (published by Gakken Co., Ltd.).
