The concept is a village of handmade washi paper and organic products. A place that connects people, nature, and food, "a place that connects the thoughts and blessings of Ogawamachi
Only 1.5 hours from central Tokyo. Located slightly west of central Saitama Prefecture and surrounded by the lush green mountains of Outer Chichibu, Ogawa is home to the traditional industry of Ogawa washi, nurtured by the clear waters of the Tsukigawa River, a first-class river, which flows through the center of the city. The town, which has prospered through local industries such as washi paper and sake brewing, has also been called "Musashi's Little Kyoto" because of the harmony of its rich nature, history, and culture. The town's magnificent nature and clean water have also fostered a culture of fermentation and brewing, and the diverse food culture nurtured by the local climate has been carefully handed down to the present day. The concept of this facility is "a village of handmade washi paper and organic products. The roadside station will become a center of exchange for regional revitalization, a "place where people, nature, and food meet, and where the brilliance of Ogawa-machi - the thoughts and blessings of Ogawa-machi - are connected.
We will provide a place where the charms of Ogawamachi's history, culture, and nature are woven together to connect with the future, and a place where hearts can meet and touch each other.

<Specializing in washi paper! A "traditional crafts facility" where visitors can touch and learn traditional crafts and experience papermaking.
The Saitama Traditional Crafts Center opened in 1990 as an industrial museum to exhibit and introduce traditional handicrafts designated by Saitama Prefecture. In addition to exhibiting 30 traditional handicrafts from 20 production areas, the museum has a washi studio where visitors can experience making Ogawa washi, a specialty of Ogawa Town, and watch a demonstration of Hosokawa paper, which is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
After the renovation, as a "traditional crafts facility," the center will focus on Ogawa washi, one of Saitama's traditional crafts, and will provide more exhibits to help visitors learn more about it and a more powerful paper-making experience where visitors can make their own Ogawa washi.
