Three Peaks, Inc. (President: Takehiro Oikawa), a winery in Kaimachi, Ofunato City, Iwate Prefecture, will release a new product in the Kaimachi Wine series, a portable and convenient "pouch wine," on May 30, 2025.

■ Development Background

Three Peaks is a family-owned winery founded in 2018 in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture.

With the philosophy of delivering "a moment of tenderness," we have been working to produce Japanese wine that is in tune with the local food culture.

In order to allow more people to enjoy authentic Japanese wine, we have developed a "pouch-type" wine that is easy to take with you on trips, camping trips, and other occasions, as well as being easy to preserve.

Product Features

Lightweight, break-proof pouch container. The pouch is lightweight and break-resistant, making it easy to enjoy wine in a variety of settings such as outdoor activities, picnics, and camping.

Preservation of quality: The pouch container with excellent light and oxygen shielding properties preserves the flavor of the wine for a long period of time.

Environmental friendliness: Lighter weight than glass bottles helps reduce CO2 emissions during transportation.

■Taste and Pairing

Kaimachi Wine, pouch type (white wine) is a dry wine with refreshing acidity and fruity aroma, a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. It goes well with seafood, salads, and light appetizers, and is especially recommended to be paired with dishes made with seafood from Sanriku.

■Future Development

The pouch wine lineup consists of three types: white (Chardonnay Pinot Gris), red (Merlot Syrah), and apple wine. Future plans include the release of apple flavored wines "Yuzu" and "Muscat" in the summer of 2025.

Three Peaks will continue to develop products rooted in local food culture.
