Two zines produced by mother and daughter respectively
Since 2010, a mother and daughter have been publishing a free zine, "E-no-guraku", which is like writing letters to friends, and will celebrate its 15th anniversary in October 2025. My daughter, who was 3 years old when the first issue was published, is now a high school student.
What is the free paper "En-no-Egaku"?
I want to write! The free paper is a "free" (free = free) paper medium in which you can write whenever you feel like it. It is distributed at free paper specialty stores, cafes, general merchandise stores, and other spaces. Click here to see the media outline.

Free paper "En-no-Egaku" (Drawing a picture)
Various events are happening every day. We feel sad and depressed while watching the news. Sometimes I wonder why such things happen. Although we cannot do anything to change this reality, we can connect to it through small things we do in our daily lives, such as saying hello to our neighbors, talking about the weather with someone in the elevator, or e-mailing a friend with whom we have not kept in touch recently.
If you continue to greet your neighbors, an old man may say, "I'm glad you greeted me," and offer to give you sushi, or an old lady may ask, "I can't turn on the lights in my house. I was also asked by an old lady, "I can't change the light in my house, can you help me? I was once encouraged by a woman I bumped into on the street when I was pregnant with my daughter. What would the world be like if each of us did the same for the people in front of us? Thinking about this, I have continued to create with my daughter.

~A time to be at nothing, to focus on what is in front of you.
Every season, you may think, "Hey, what's that? I remember it was a dogwood tree, wasn't it? The dogwood tree makes us stop and think, "I remember that was a dogwood tree, wasn't it? I follow the changes of the dogwood tree as it shows different appearances each season. Starting on March 19, 2023, I will continue to follow the tree for two years, until March 19, 2025. (2) Fluffy My life
~Diary of a 17-year-old for 17 days
The diary of a high school student living in the present. A high school student who says writing is "nothing but a hardship" writes in his diary, "I tried hard for 17 days because I am 17 years old. For example, "March 2 (Sunday), I took the second test for Eiken Level 2!" I took the second test for the EIKEN Level 2 English proficiency test on Friday, March 2," "Friday, March 14: Every Friday is English conversation lesson day," and "Saturday, March 15: Morning with my grandfather and mother at Komeda Coffee Shop. It is a book that makes you feel that everyone is living their daily lives in a way that no one else can. (26 pages, B6 size, 770 yen [tax included])
Author Profile: Chie (Author)
Chie was three years old when her mother got her involved and together they started creating a free paper "Enon wo Sora" (Drawing a picture), which is like writing a letter to a friend. Although she said "I'm going to stop soon," she continues to be involved in its production even now that she is in her third year of high school. For the past few years, she has been trying various things with a motto of "full of curiosity," although she sometimes feels a little "bothersome" (the "bothersome" includes anxiety and nervousness) just before she tries them. For example, during my sophomore year, I changed my high school art course, took painting classes, took English conversation lessons, became a high school reporter, participated in international exchange events, and joined the UNESCO club and the broadcasting club. ...... Making this book is part of that. What I have realized after all these trials is that I am blessed with many encounters. New things are always accompanied by anxiety and nervousness. However, encounters lead to something new, and that gives them the courage to "go for it again! and "I'll do my best again!
