Japan Silk Village, located in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, is an exhibition and hands-on learning facility related to Gunma's sericulture and silk industry, as represented by the World Heritage Site, Tomioka Silk Mill. The exhibition was held in the museum's exhibition room. The world of gorgeous and gorgeous works displayed in the museum's exhibition rooms has surprised visitors and attracted a lot of attention.
On April 29, Showa Day, a special event will be held in which bride models will wear bubble-era uchikake with modern coordination.

<Highlight of the exhibition
At the entrance of the venue is the same kimono worn by Momoe Yamaguchi, a national star of the Showa period, for her wedding reception. There are also 14 other uchikake (Japanese traditional Japanese-style kimono) pieces that evoke the richness of the Showa bubble era. All are from the precious private collection of fashion director Setsuko Wakatsuki, and are on display along with six kimono dresses that connect traditional culture to the next generation. Visitors are welcome to take pictures and post their works on social networking sites, and the exhibition includes explanations in English, which is sure to be appreciated by visitors from overseas.

There is a full lineup of related events that will bring you closer to uchikake, the highest art form of silk products. Setsuko Wakatsuki herself will give gallery talks on her works twice during the exhibition period, and there will be a corner where visitors can actually try on some of the silk cuffs from the collection of Japan Silk Village. A special event will be held on April 29, Showa Day, with renowned kimono stylist Yukie Sugiyama as a guest. A bride model will demonstrate how to dress a bride in Showa-era Uchikake, and Setsuko Wakatsuki will discuss the modern value of Bubble-era Uchikake. The events are free of charge (admission fee not included), but reservations are required for the Showa Day event.
