Background of development

In a collaboration project between Makuake and the department store Daimaru Sapporo that stipulates a completely new product, we have arranged our signature product, gateau basque, in a matcha flavor and sold it with special attention to the ingredients.

Gateau Basque is a local pastry from the Basque region of France, baked with almond cream with rum in the cookie dough.

Features

Matcha green tea matured in Hokkaido

The highest quality domestic tea leaves produced by Gyokusuien, a tea shop established 90 years ago in Sapporo, are matured in Sapporo to produce "Mizu no Mamorujin" matcha, which brings out the bitterness and astringency of the matcha.

Anko (red bean paste) made from Hokkaido red beans

The red bean paste used at Daifuku shop "Mochi Kaisho Saizo" in Sapporo is processed and filled to suit the gateau basque.

The gyuhi (rice flour) in the filling adds a textural accent.
