cafe&gallery Cabane (Representative / Chef: Daisuke Ogura), which operates a cafe, restaurant, and gallery in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture, will officially open "Kro Terrier," a lodging facility for rent in April 2025, following its pre-opening in November 2024. It will officially open in April 2025.

About Kro Terrier

Kro Terrier is a newly established accommodation facility in Ena Gorge, about an hour's drive from Nagoya. The two buildings nestled in the forest were designed by imajo design (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), the same firm that created the café and restaurant on the same site. The topography, climate, and sunlight conditions were carefully researched and designed to harmonize with the nature of Ena Gorge.

Kro Terrier's goal is to provide a relaxing space and comfortable sleep. The guest rooms, based on the concept of "Terrier," meaning "den" in French, are just the right size to accommodate a maximum of two people, and the furniture and lighting fixtures supervised by imajo design gently nestle together. The rooms are set in a private space where you are surrounded by silence and peace, as if you are back in your den, so please take your time to spend time with yourself and your loved ones.

How to spend your time at Kro Terrier

In Danish, "Kro" means a "hut" that provides travelers with rest and meals. As the name suggests, Kro Terrier is also characterized by the unique dining experience that can only be experienced here. When staying at the hotel, guests can make reservations at the adjacent Restaurant Dig to enjoy a course meal prepared by Chef Daisuke Ogura using seasonal ingredients.

Café & Gallery Cavano, which can be visited freely during your stay, offers lunch and drinks with desserts made with local ingredients. The restaurant features Scandinavian furniture that the chef has collected over the years, as well as a gallery that sells crafts and local products from the surrounding area. The grounds are planted with seasonal flowers and more than 150 cherry trees, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the changing seasons.

About Ena Gorge

Ena Gorge, located in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture, was once selected as one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan. The area designated as a prefectural natural park is home to the Kiso River, one of the largest rivers in Japan, and offers a dynamic landscape of green trees and huge rocks, attracting more than 500,000 tourists a year.
