Matcha Ice Cream Shop CHAICE (Representative: Katsuyuki Ikemoto, Headquarters: 6F Sreed EBISU EAST, 1-24-15 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will launch a healthy ice cream "8ko Deluxe" at CHAICE Shimo-Kitazawa store (1st floor, TRUSTONE, 2-30-2 Kitazawa, Setagaya-ku) on April 18, 2025 (Friday), which was designed by university students who "want to eat a little of everything. CHAICE will launch "8ko Deluxe," a healthy ice cream for people who "want to eat a little bit of everything.

The ice cream store CHAICE has traditionally been managed by university student staff, and is known for its self-initiative by university students in everything from SNS posting, inventory management, sales tallying, data analysis, and product planning.

Recently, CHAICE was featured on FM Setagaya's "Nabeyakan no Buchibuhi Spark Time" as a popular ice cream store that is run by university student staff.

CHAICE usually offers about eight kinds of healthy ice cream at any given time, using traditional Japanese ingredients such as matcha green tea, hojicha green tea, and sesame seeds from Shizuoka Markabu Sato Tea Company and seasonal ingredients. When soliciting product ideas for the spring/summer season, the university student staff standing at the store noticed that there were several customer comments such as "I want to eat all of them and get lost," "I can't decide between the various ice creams," and "I want to eat a little of this and a little of that.

Then why don't you serve it all?" This led to the creation of a product with all eight flavors in a single cup, which we named "8ko Deluxe.

University student staff analyzing store visit data reported that the average number of customers visiting the store was 2.4.

We decided to launch the product with confidence because two or three people can order one "8-Co Deluxe" and have a little bit of all the flavors, fulfilling the wishes of our customers.

The university students involved in the launch of the new "8-Co Deluxe" product said, "...I think we should let the students do more and more of the work.

I think this is a job that will be useful in the future because students are entrusted with more and more work, and when they make suggestions, they are accepted and adopted, and even when they are not accepted, they are told why they are not accepted!

I am very happy to have joined CHAICE because all the staff members get along well with each other. The good thing about CHAICE is that I can work with peace of mind because the manuals are in videos and the company and store ideas are in a notebook as a rule book.

When we all came up with the idea for "8-Co Deluxe," we discussed it from various directions, such as sales methods and operations, so it is very interesting to see our own products take shape.

Dark green tea, fragrant green tea, hojicha, Hokkaido milk, sesame, strawberry, burnt butter salted caramel, and adzuki bean.

Customers who tasted the toppings during the test sale said

I feel like I'm getting a great deal because I can try a little of each flavor. I especially like matcha green tea, so I think I'm going to be addicted to the fact that I can mix it with other flavors to change it up.

It is just the right size for two people to eat a variety of flavors, and as an ice cream lover, I hope it will continue indefinitely. The unlimited toppings are also a nice bonus.

I thought I would feel guilty about eating 8 pieces of ice cream, but when I tried it, I was surprised that it was not too sweet and had a luxurious feel to it. It's great to share with friends because you won't get tired of eating them.
