Launch of "Japanese Language and Career Support Program for Immigrants, Refugees, and Educationally Disadvantaged Individuals"
NPO法人日本語とエクスチェンジの会
Since FY2022, NPO Japanese and Language Exchange Group (located in Osaka City, Representative: Rimi Makino) has been providing Japanese language education and employment support for Ukrainian refugees as the Nippon Foundation-subsidized project.
In FY2024, the program provided Japanese language lessons to 5 students and employment support to 3 students, one of whom was awarded a contract with JETRO.
In May 2025, we plan to launch a new subsidized project, "Japanese Language and Career Support Program for Immigrants, Refugees, and Educationally Disadvantaged Individuals". The project will expand the scope of support, which was previously limited to refugees from Ukraine, to include immigrants and refugees from all over the world.

Lesson 1 of the project in FY2024
Lesson 2 of the project in FY2024
This project aims to help those who are taking a new step forward in Japan to live a secure life and envision an independent future through "language" and "support".
However, due to a reduction in grant funding, your donation is essential for the continuation of the project.
Immigrants and refugees fleeing conflict and persecution and trying to start a new life in Japan face many difficulties, including language barriers, cultural differences, and difficulties in finding work. In particular, those from Myanmar, Syria, Afghanistan, Palestine, and other countries who have been forced to leave their home countries are in urgent need of support to build a foundation for their lives in Japan.
