Papageno Corporation (Head office: Suginami-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yasumasa Tanaka), which operates DX support for companies and employment support services for people with mental and developmental disabilities, will hold an "AI Welfare Hackathon" on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 13:00 to 16:00.

AI Welfare Hackathon

This event is a training session where participants can learn basic knowledge and specific applications of AI for incorporating AI into the field of support in a hands-on manner so that even novice users can implement it. Everyone is welcome to attend, including persons with disabilities, supporters, those interested in AI and IT, and students.

This is an opportunity for highly motivated people who will create the future of welfare to gather and learn together about new technologies and the future of support and welfare for people with disabilities. Let's meet colleagues with diverse backgrounds and together expand the possibilities of AI utilization in social work in the future.

*We have prepared assignments of different difficulty levels so that even beginners can participate. Please feel free to participate even if you are a first-time learner.

AI Programming Experience: Using AI tools that are easy to use even for beginners, participants will simulate specific examples of AI applications in supporting users.

Introduction of the latest AI applications: We will introduce the forefront of DX and AI applications required in the disability welfare industry, focusing on practical examples from Papageno.

Q&A and discussion: Participants will share their questions and ideas and deepen their learning through discussions with each other and the lecturer.

Lecturer Profile

The lecturer will be Yasumasa Tanaka, author of the book "A New Form of Support for Persons with Disabilities Changing with Generative AI: Social Work 4.0" and CEO of Papageno, Inc.

Yasumasa Tanaka, Representative Director of Papageno, Inc.

After working in business development at a healthcare startup and conducting research on media and suicide at the Kanagawa University of Health and Welfare's Graduate School of Health Innovation, he founded Papageno, Inc. in 2022. Aiming for "social implementation of recovery," he is making efforts to utilize DX and AI in the disability welfare industry through the operation of "Papageno Work & Recovery," a Type B continuous employment support program, and the development of "AI Support-san," a DX application for the support field. He has a number of achievements, including collaboration with the national and local governments, training of AI utilization skills of supporters through "AI Welfare Hackathon," and survey on the actual status of DX in the disability welfare industry and policy proposals.

About Papageno Work & Recovery

Provides an environment where people with mental and developmental disabilities can use computers to learn IT skills and work in their own way. The first facility opened in Hachimanyama in September 2023, and the second in Yoga in March 2025.
