Team roan is raising funds for the restoration project of "Kasuan Roji Toji Garden," a treasured garden created by Mirei Shigemori, one of Japan's most famous gardeners, through "READYFOR" from March 1, 2025 to April 29, 2025. The garden is a long-established garden that has been in use for many years.

The garden has fallen into disrepair over the years and is losing its beauty and value. This project aims to pass on the cultural heritage of the region to the next generation through the restoration of the garden and its opening to the public.

■Project Background

Mirei Shigemori (1896-1975) was a garden historian and gardener from Kibichuo Town, Okayama Prefecture. His modern gardens, constructed with his unique world view and artistic style, are highly regarded both in Japan and abroad. The "Kakuan Roji Higashi Garden" is one of his valuable works and is located in the historical district of Bicchu Takahashi, the castle town. However, the garden is currently in disrepair and its value is not being fully utilized.

■ Project Objectives

This project will involve the following efforts

Restoration of the garden: With the help of specialists and craftsmen, the structure of the garden, the plants, and the arrangement of the stones will be carefully restored.

Activities related to the registration of the garden as a cultural property: We will clarify the historical and cultural value of the garden and aim to register it as a cultural property.

Contribution to regional revitalization: Through the opening of the garden to the public and the holding of cultural events, we will convey the charm of the garden to local residents and tourists, and enhance the cultural value of the region.

■Crowdfunding

The total construction cost of this project is expected to be approximately 30 million yen, part of which will be raised through crowdfunding. The target amount is 1 million yen, and support is being sought for approximately two months, from March 1 to April 29, 2025. The funds raised will be used to cover the cost of restoring the garden and research expenses related to the registration of the garden as a cultural property.
