For Graduates 26] Focusing on the Inner Life of Job Hunters through Avatar Interviews! Start accepting applications for virtual interviews!
株式会社ビヨンド
BEYOND Co. (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan), a provider of cloud/server services, will begin accepting applications for "virtual interviews" for new graduate recruitment for the class of 2026 on Monday, February 3, 2025. By reducing the amount of information interviewers have about job hunters (hereinafter referred to as "job hunters"), interviews will be conducted without preconceived notions and with an emphasis on the internal aspects of job hunters.

■Organizations that use diversity of human resources as a strength
As more and more companies are gradually working to promote diversity against the backdrop of a shrinking workforce, corporate globalization, and diversification of workers and work styles, it is difficult to hire a diverse workforce using only traditional recruitment methods, so flexible and resourceful recruitment strategies are required.
We believe that focusing on diversity means understanding a person's own inner self and past experiences, which will lead to the realization of diversity in the true sense of the word.
To this end, we will conduct "virtual interviews" in order to recruit new talent that fits our corporate philosophy, culture, and values.
What is a virtual interview?
We call the interview process "virtual interviewing" because it is conducted using avatars to hide the faces of the candidates without actually meeting them face to face. By minimizing information about the candidate, the interview is conducted in a flat environment with no bias.
Why Virtual Interviews?
We have been involved in a variety of recruiting methods in the past, including company information sessions using online games, the creation and release of game-based recruiting content, and virtual and metaverse interviews.
We are conducting virtual interviews to provide an opportunity to meet people who are interested in unique recruitment methods and are willing to take on challenges, aspiring engineers who are highly interested in new technologies, and people who enjoy communicating and expressing their individuality even when their faces are hidden.
To date, our virtual interviews have focused on the inner lives of job hunters, and we have hired people who share our corporate philosophy and values. By establishing virtual interviews as a common recruiting method for our company in addition to our regular selection process, we aim to give job hunters the freedom to choose the method that best suits their own strengths.
■Beyond's official characters appear as interviewers
In order to continue to make virtual interviews a common recruitment method for new graduates, we have created a special avatar to act as an interviewer. She will serve as the interviewer for the virtual interview.
Sabano Mill, the official BEYOND character, will serve as a virtual interviewer.
Advantages of the virtual interview
The interviewer can focus on the candidate's inner self by conversing with them without unnecessary filters.
The information obtained from the job seeker during the virtual interview is a nickname and e-mail address. Therefore, the interviewer and interviewee are on equal footing and can proceed with the interview focusing on the inside without being constrained by personal information or educational background.
It is easy to have the interviewee express his/her personality.
Unlike a normal interview, the interview is conducted with the interviewee's face hidden using an avatar, etc. This allows the interview to proceed in a relaxed atmosphere and allows both parties to express themselves as they are in the interview, without feeling formalities.
Participants can develop the skills necessary to become an engineer.
Through the virtual interview, participants can increase their interest in new technology and improve their inquisitiveness, and they can train their information-gathering skills by researching various information to invent their avatars.
