In commemoration of the recovery efforts following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, three large “Tsurushi Hina” displays (collectively known as the Three Great Tsurushi Hina of Snowy Echigo) are currently on view, with one each in Tokamachi, Tsunan, and Yuzawa in Niigata Prefecture.
Furthermore, for two days only—from Wednesday, February 19 through Thursday, February 20—a “Niigata Product Fair” will be held at Michi-no-Eki Cross Ten in Tokamachi, jointly hosted by Michi-no-Eki Cross Ten and Kyosuke Co., Ltd. A wide variety of local specialties from Niigata Prefecture will be available for purchase, including Uonuma Koshihikari rice, sasadango, and other products delivered straight from the Echigo region.
Restaurant “Aurora” × Niigata Local Noodles Collaboration Lunch Project
For a limited period and on select days, we are pleased to offer a special collaboration lunch featuring two exquisite noodle creations. Guests will enjoy dishes prepared with fresh pasta made with rice flour from Oguni Seimen Co., Ltd. in Tainai City, Niigata Prefecture, as well as Chinese noodles made with Koshihikari rice from “Umai Isshoku-dō” in Tokamachi City. These Chinese noodles are uniquely prepared using funori seaweed—the very ingredient employed as the binder in the renowned Hegi soba of Echigo-Tsumari.
Umaichi Shokudō (Tokamachi City)
Located along National Route 253, which connects Tokamachi City to Minamiuonuma City (Muikamachi), this well-regarded establishment is celebrated for its delicious ramen, gyoza, and fried rice.
Oguni Seimen Co., Ltd.
Building on the foundation of crafting noodles with rice flour produced in Niigata Prefecture, Oguni Seimen Co., Ltd. manufactures a wide range of noodle products including udon, soba, yakisoba, ramen, and pasta. The company also offers collaborative products with Niigata’s soul foods and long-established ramen shops, aiming to grow and develop together with the local community.
