Japan's smallest film cinema, Cinema Novecento (located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), operated by Cinema Novecento Inc. will exclusively screen "1%er One Percenter" in the Tokyo metropolitan area. In addition, a talk event with director Yudai Yamaguchi and lead actor Taku Sakaguchi will be held on February 23 & 24, 2025.

Action actor and director Taku Sakaguchi is highly acclaimed not only in the Japanese film industry but also internationally as an explorer of realistic action.

Taku Sakaguchi and director Yudai Yamaguchi, who have worked together on many films since their debut, have finally completed an original action epic that can be called the culmination of their collaboration.

The film is called "1%er: One Percenter.

Prior to its release in Japan, the film was screened at numerous overseas film festivals and received rave reviews as the ultimate Japanese action film, but for various reasons it was not released in Japan.

While fans were wondering if the film could ever be released in theaters, it was released in a roadshow at Cinema Novecento at the end of 2024, and was praised one after another as "a masterpiece that lives up to the rumors.

In response to the great popularity of the film, a revival screening has already been decided!

In addition, a long talk show, autograph session, photo session, and reception will be held on the last two days with director Yudai Yamaguchi and leading actor Taku Sakaguchi as guests (additional fee required).

Synopsis:

A 1%er (one-percenter), one of the chosen few who have mastered the art.

Toshiro Takuma, a lone action actor who once dominated the world, has lost his place in the film industry because of his pursuit of practical, realistic action.

One day, he and his apprentice Akira decide to shoot an action film together and visit an abandoned deserted island, but the island hides a secret that a group of mercenaries are after...

Toshiro is caught up in a series of incidents on the closed island, and his life is threatened by Kishima, the most powerful assassin who has mastered the art of Jeet Kune Do.

Born on March 15, 1975.

He made his debut in "VERSUS" in 2001. Since then, he has appeared in numerous films, including "Death Trance" (2005) and "TOKYO TRIBE" (2002), for which he served as action director. His recent films include "Kingdom" (19) and "Kyomusashi" (20). He is well known overseas as a world-class action actor, and his further success is expected in the future.

Yudai Yamaguchi

Born on October 10, 1971.

He graduated from the Japan Academy of Moving Images (now the Japan Academy of Moving Images) and won the Young Competition Grand Prix at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival in 2003 for "Jigoku Koshien. His representative works include "Kai! Cromartie High School THE☆MOVIE" (2005), "Akanbo Shoujo" (2008), and "Chin Yuuki" (2004).
