From March 5 (Wed.) to 23 (Sun.), 2025, "Matsuto-one" will be performed on a total of 20 stages at Noto Theatre Hall (operated by Theatre Town Promotion Organization) in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, in commemoration of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024. Riho Yoshioka and Misako Renbutsu will play the double lead roles, and the play will be written by Eriko Komatsu, a writer known for NHK's historical drama "Tenchijin", and planned, casted, and produced by Yukiko Kondo, a native of Nanao City.
Under the theme "Music, Art and Culture are Messengers of Peace," producer Yukiko Kondo has been actively working in Japan and abroad. She has a wide range of projects under the name "CONCORDIA," and plans and produces memorable music, concerts, events, films, videos, and stage performances for the world. Matsuto-one" is a story of two women who were born and lived through the Warring States period. Matsumatsu and Onne were two women in history who wished for a peaceful world without killing, despite being tossed about by the political upheavals of the times. Their decisions and actions gave birth to the history of warless Japan. This is a story of love and friendship depicted from the unique female perspective of Matsumatsu and One, who lived through turbulent and turbulent times.
In 2024, the Noto Peninsula earthquake damaged the Noto Theater, where the play was to be performed, and the performance of "Matsuto-one," which had been in preparation for some time, was postponed for a time. While the theater is undergoing repairs, the performance will be rescheduled for March 2025 as a performance to pray for reconstruction. The Noto Theater is the only theater in Japan that combines nature and the stage under the supervision of the famous actor Tatsuya Nakadai. When the large door at the back of the stage opens, the magnificent nature of Noto spreads out before you, and the hall features a stage mechanism that is rare in the world, where nature and the stage become one. The facility is designed to make it easy for actors to perform and for audiences to watch, and a variety of performances are staged there, including the Mumeijuku performances every fall.
As a new start for the damaged Noto Theater, the stage "Matsuto-one" will be performed from March. We hope you will take this opportunity to come and see this stage play that prays for the recovery of the area.

What is Noto Theatre Company?
The Noto Theatre Hall was established on May 12, 1995 as a result of an exchange between Mumeijuku, led by actor Tatsuya Nakadai, and the town of Nakajima in Nanao City. Tatsuya Nakadai was appointed honorary director.
When the large door at the back of the stage opens, the magnificent nature of Noto spreads out before you, and the hall features a stage mechanism that is rare in the world in which nature and the stage are one.
The facility is designed to make it easy for the actors to perform and for the audience to watch, and a variety of performances are staged throughout the year, including the Mumeijuku performance every fall.

Connection with Mumeijuku
In 1983, Mr. Nakadai's wife, Kyoko Miyazaki (pen name: Ryuboe), and her mother visited Noto on a family vacation. The view of the quiet waves of the inner bay and the townscape of black tiles and white-walled warehouses made Mr. Nakadai suddenly realized that "discovering the original beauty of Noto is a cultural thing, isn't it? Two years later, in 1985, the Mumyojuku started its Noto Nakajima training camp. The camp continued for about 10 years until the following year, after the opening of the Noto Theater Hall.
The exchange between Mumyo Juku and the people of Nakajima through this camp increased the desire of the people of Nakajima for theater and the idea of community development through theater, and the construction of the hall was realized with Mr. Nakadai taking over the supervision of the project.
From its opening to the present, the Noto Theatre Hall has served as a base for "community development through theater," and as a representative example of this, Mumyo Juku has regularly held long-run performances every few years.
