Taki Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshikazu Takizawa) will hold the "Learning Important Things in Life from Games Exhibition" at Horikawa Oike Gallery in Kyoto starting Friday, December 13.
At this exhibition, under the theme of "Designing Games and Experiences," visitors will be able to play for free all 8 original games that were created based on the things that everyone will experience in life, such as growth, victory, friends, difficulties, money, challenges, time, and ideas, as well as learn about the results of a game-related survey conducted on approximately 550 people, and learn about the latest trends in game design. The exhibition will also feature the results of a survey of approximately 550 people on games, interviews with UX design and game experts, and comments from top runners in various fields who have been familiar with games. The exhibition was held at GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi in Tokyo (March-April 2024) as a selected project of the 3rd GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi Open Call Exhibition, and was visited by 17,000 people. Focusing on video games, which have a tremendous impact on society by captivating people, the exhibition will unravel the "learning from games" and the "design of experiences (UX design) embedded in games".
In addition to a special event featuring a talk between Masaaki Hiromura, director of GOOD DESIGN Marunouchi and a judge for the publicly solicited exhibition, and Kenji Fujii, creative director of this exhibition, a design-related workshop will also be held.

We may have experienced life through games.
We may have experienced life through games.
We may have experienced life through games.
I think we may have been experiencing life through games.
On our smartphones, in game arcades, at home,
It is unthinkable that games do not exist as a part of our lives.
games that we can't think of.
Action, shooting, puzzle, RPG, etc,
Everyone has their own favorite game or a game that has influenced their life,
We all probably have at least one such game that is a favorite of ours or that has influenced our lives.
These games are designed in a variety of ways.
Characters, backgrounds, control screens, packaging, sound, and so on,
The design of the characters, backgrounds, control screens, packaging, sounds, and other aspects of the game are of course important,
In fact, the "experience" of playing a game is also designed.
This is called UX (user experience) design.
When you play a game, you may feel happy, sad, or frustrated,
Have you ever felt happy, sad, or frustrated when playing a game?
Maybe it's the UX design that makes you play your favorite game over and over again....
It might be because of UX design.
This exhibition is the first game design exhibition that takes a look at games from such a UX design perspective,

Since fiscal year 2021, we have been soliciting applications from the public for exhibition projects. Since fiscal year 2021, we have been accepting applications for exhibition projects that offer creative insights into the expanding role of "design" as a means to solve various issues and discover new themes in an increasingly complex society. This year, the "Learning the Important Things in Life from Games" exhibition was selected from among a record number of 27 projects submitted. The exhibition was highly evaluated as a challenging project that overlaps life with games and solves problems through UX design, and as an opportunity to re-evaluate video games as "design".

Taki Corporation IDEAL]
Digital technology has become widespread and commonplace today. Most companies, products, and services can no longer deliver all of their value by separating their contact with the digital world. That is why we must now talk about the interface (UI) that connects a company and its customers, and the experience (UX) that is gained from that interface. At IDEAL, we design customer experiences from both digital and real-world perspectives to help companies improve and grow their DX, products, and services.
