Social contribution project "TAKI SMILE DESIGN LABO, Social Contribution Activities in Nepal

Taki Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshikazu Takizawa) will visit Nepal from November 30 (Saturday) to December 6 (Friday), 2024, as part of its social contribution project "TAKI SMILE DESIGN LABO (SDL)", SDL will visit Nepal from November 30 (Sat.) to December 6 (Fri.), 2024 to conduct a design workshop for children who have few opportunities to receive emotional education at a government school in Ramche village, Sindh Paruchowk district.

SDL, a social contribution activity project undertaken by Taki Corporation, is a project initiated by volunteers from Taki Corporation based on the question of what social contribution we, as workers in the advertising production field, can make. Up to now, we have been involved in various activities in Japan and overseas with the goal of "bringing smiles to people's faces through the power of design.

We visited Lamche village in Nepal for the first time in 2017, and this is our fifth visit. The school, which we have been continuously supporting, aims to promote creativity and learning among children by providing educational support through design.

Last year, under the theme of "Communication Design," three workshops were held for approximately 130 students in grades 5 through 10, providing them with the experience of creating something that cares about others, such as "appreciating loved ones," "creating value," and "improving the school environment. We also collect supplies and donations within the company and provide cosmetics to women in Lamche Village, art supplies to a facility for the handicapped in Kathmandu, and a Christmas party at an orphanage, among a wide range of other support activities.

This year, SDL plans to continue its activities to encourage children to experience the joy of imagination and creation through design and to encourage their growth by holding workshops, as well as providing support for art materials and visiting local universities and Japanese language schools.
