Fukuzo LLC (1-7-8, Hondori, Tadotsu-cho, Nakatado-gun, Kagawa) will hold a POP UP of popular illustrator/painter "Hidakanaoto" at "Dragon Canvas" (1-3-18, Hondori, Tadotsu-cho: Onomichiya Kozo), which is independently operated under the theme of souvenirs, arts and miscellaneous goods, to celebrate "Bonyakodanuki's Fun Year-End Party" by popular illustrator/painter "Hidaka Naoto" will be held at Onomichiya Kogura. The exhibition will be held from December 14 to 22, 2024 (closed on Wednesdays). The popular character "BONYARIKO DANUKI" and his friends will gather together with their original drawings and goods for a very lively and fun year-end party POP UP.

Background, thoughts and wishes for the event

In the Hondori district of the town of Tadotsu, Kagawa Prefecture, the representative of Fukuzo LLC, Akimichi Hidaka, who is the father of the painter Naoto Hidaka, has been traveling between Nara Prefecture and Tadotsu for the past seven years with the aim of making the area a tourist attraction. The idea for this project began with the fact that many of the paintings that Naoto Hidaka drew as a student were purchased by residents of Tadotsu Town.

Today, the "Art Cafe Shimizu Onsen" decorated with murals painted by Hidakanaoto is one of Kagawa Prefecture's most popular tourist attractions, attracting an increasing number of visitors from Japan and abroad. Hidakanaoto's relationship with Kagawa Prefecture is deepening, as evidenced by the fact that he has been in charge of leaflet illustrations for Sanuki Kodomo no Kuni, the only large-scale children's museum in the prefecture, since fiscal year 2022.

The POP UP venue, "Dragon Canvas," is a 1-minute walk from "Art Cafe Shimizu Onsen. It is a souvenir store renovated from an old storehouse that was sleeping at the back of "Onomichiya," a former soy sauce store that had been vacant for many years and was reborn as an atmospheric space with different faces by day and by night. The POP UP is expected to attract a total of more than 1,500 visitors during the period, partly as an event to attract visitors from the four prefectures of Shikoku and the Chugoku and Kansai regions, and partly in anticipation of Hidakanaoto fans who live in neighboring prefectures.

Hidakanaoto POP UP "Bonny Child Danuki" will be held for the first time at the old storehouse "Dragon's Canvas" as an art event aiming to make the Tadotsu-cho Hondori neighborhood, known as a historical street, into a long-desired tourist attraction.
