CRUISE Ism (Koto-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Kengo Kuno), a general incorporated association that operates CRUISE Ism, a cruise-specific travel media with over 5 million total followers of influencers and creators, held a tie-up event on September 27, 2024 at the Norwegian Ambassador's residence in collaboration with Finnair, Norwegian National Tourist Office, (Koto-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Kengo Hisano), together with Finnair, Norwegian National Tourist Board, and Hurtigruten, held a tie-up event at the official residence of the Norwegian Ambassador to Japan on September 27, 2024.
Cruiseism's first multi-company tie-up event at the Norwegian Ambassador's residence
Ten influencers belonging to Cruise-ism (total number of followers: over 1.6 million) were invited to this event, with the aim of experiencing and communicating the charms of Northern Europe. The event was attended by Ambassador Christine Iglum of the Norwegian Embassy to Japan and Sakari Rom, Head of Finnair Japan, and was a great success.
In the first half of the event, the Norwegian National Tourist Board gave a presentation on Norway's attractions and tourist resources, Hurtigruten gave a presentation on the appeal of Norwegian "Northern Lights and Fjords Cruises," and Finnair gave a presentation on its concept and appeal as an airline.
In the second half, the influencers were divided into three groups for a workshop on the theme of travel to Norway and Scandinavia with Finnair. The participants brainstormed about a reproducible plan for a Norway/Northern Europe destination utilizing Finnair, and all participants presented their concepts.
At the reception, the participants were treated to a special menu featuring seasonal Norwegian salmon and mackerel, and they also deepened their friendship with each other.
Background and Purpose of the Event
With the growing popularity of cruise travel, Norway is attracting attention as an attractive tourist destination where visitors can experience the magnificent nature, including fjords, and Scandinavian culture. We hope to further promote its attractions and increase the number of travelers from Japan.
Finnair is also faced with the challenge of flight restrictions in Russian airspace, which requires it to approach new customer segments.
This event aims to stimulate new travel demand by utilizing Cruise-ism's network of influencers to spread the word about Norway's attractions and Finnair's convenience.
■Aims of the project and expectations of the influencers
In recent years, demand for travel has shifted from traditional package tours to individual travel, and more emphasis is being placed on personal values and experiential travel in selecting travel destinations and travel plans.
In this event, influencers will actually experience the attractions of Scandinavia and communicate their unique perspectives on the country, which we hope will inspire more travelers to "want to visit there too" and be moved by the "wonder of Scandinavian culture and nature" and motivate them to travel to Scandinavia with Finnair. We hope this will motivate more travelers to travel to the Nordic countries with Finnair.
Finnair's convenience (smooth access via Helsinki, comfortable in-flight service, Scandinavian design, environmental friendliness, etc.), Norway's diverse attractions (magnificent nature, fjords, Northern Lights, gourmet food, cultural experiences, etc.), and Hurtigruten's extensive and spectacular cruise trips (nature experience, The goal is to create new demand for travel by effectively promoting Hurtigruten's spectacular cruise trips (nature experiences, lifestyle, locally produced and locally consumed foods, etc.).
