Toward ESG Value Enhancement of Startups and SMEs Nagoya Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Chubu TLO and aiESG collaborate
公益財団法人名古屋産業科学研究所 中部TLO、株式会社aiESG
The Nagoya Institute of Industrial Science and Technology Chubu TLO (hereafter referred to as Chubu TLO) has concluded a collaboration agreement with aiESG Corporation (hereafter referred to as aiESG) and launched an initiative to support start-ups and SMEs in improving their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) value. The collaboration aims to provide commercialization support measures that comprehensively address ESG factors.
In recent years, in addition to profitability, evaluation from an ESG perspective is rapidly gaining importance in corporate management, and ESG-conscious management is not just a matter of fulfilling social responsibility, but is also attracting significant attention from investors in Japan and overseas as an important factor in enhancing the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of a company.
As a public interest incorporated foundation that contributes to the development of Japanese industry through collaboration among industry, academia, and government, Chubu TLO is committed to fostering technology with a view to social implementation, not limited to patent acquisition and technology transfer, of research results produced by universities and research institutions especially in the Chubu and Tokai regions. In addition, as a project management organization for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Go-Tech Project, we support the technological development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and we also focus on discovering and fostering technological seeds that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In such support, domestic start-ups and SMEs face the challenge that it is very difficult for them to evaluate diverse ESG factors and develop their businesses with the SDGs in mind within their limited resources.
Chubu TLO has partnered with aiESG, which uses cutting-edge AI technology and a solid research track record to visualize complex ESG criteria in an easy-to-understand manner and conduct quantitative and comprehensive ESG analysis and evaluation of products and services. We will strengthen support for technology and business development that incorporates ESG perspectives beyond cost and performance for startups and SMEs.
Chubu TLO, Nagoya Institute of Industrial Science and Technology
Chubu TLO is promoting activities aimed at fostering new technologies, drawing on its long experience in technology transfer projects centered on patents and a wide range of industry-academia collaboration support. Through support for publicly solicited projects that are closer to social implementation and commissioned work from universities and other public institutions, we help companies link the results of research and development at universities and public research institutions to new businesses. In addition, we are taking on the challenge of stimulating industry-academia collaboration through unprecedented efforts such as the use of private funds as well as public funds for issues that have high value for the creation of new industries and social contribution.
