The Hamamatsu Hamanako Tourism Bureau has produced the "Hamamatsu Hamanako 'Local Charm Scarf'" as one of the items for the "Hamamatsu Hamanako Tourism Ambassador" (hereinafter referred to as "Ambassador") uniform, with all fabrics and motifs selected from the Hamamatsu and Hamanako area.
(1) Background of production
We started production so that ambassadors who promote Hamamatsu and Hamanako area can wear items that can explain our area with civic pride.
■Design
Miho Katsuragawa, a dyeing artist in Hamamatsu City who has been collaborating with Enshu's textile makers and dyeing factories, was commissioned to create the scarf.
■ Fabric
Cotton broadcloth woven in Hamamatsu City was procured from Enshu Orimono Kaikan in Hamamatsu City.
Dyeing, etc.
Dyeing was done by auto screen at Muto Dyeing Co. Ltd. in Hamamatsu City. Using long-established techniques, the optimal combination of dyes was derived to realize Mr. Katsuragawa's design. Furthermore, by blending camellia oil, the fabric has a soft and shiny texture that is gentle on the skin and soft and moist.
Sewing
Tomoyako Tozawa of AULA SEWING SCHOOL, a Western-style sewing school in Hamamatsu City, was in charge of the sewing.

■As an item during ambassador activities
