Takahito Deguchi Farm (CEO: Takahito Deguchi / Takehiro Yamashita), an organic rice farm in Mihama-cho, Aichi Prefecture, has announced a bold plan to expand its organic rice production following the success of its crowdfunding campaign, which has raised over 200% support to date. With the closing of the crowdfunding campaign on CAMPFIRE coming up on October 20, the company plans to further expand its operations and raise awareness.

■Solving five social issues simultaneously through organic farming

Representative Takahito Deguchi says, "Organic agriculture does not only provide safe food, but also has the potential to solve multiple social issues at once. Specifically, we hope to contribute to solving the following issues

1. Extending healthy life expectancy: "Crops grown from healthy soil support people's health.

2. Protecting the environment and maintaining biodiversity: "Protecting ecosystems and the environment by eliminating the use of pesticides.

3. Preventing young people from leaving agriculture and creating jobs: "Provide attractive jobs for young people through a sustainable agricultural model.

4. Community revitalization: "We provide food for local school lunches and donate to children's cafeterias.

5. Improvement of food self-sufficiency: "We contribute to improving Japan's food self-sufficiency ratio by expanding production of domestically produced organically grown rice.

We will change Japan's backwardness in organic farming, starting locally in Aichi, by utilizing the power of microorganisms.

We are focusing on soil cultivation using microorganisms based on the belief that "healthy soil will grow healthy crops, which will in turn make the people who eat them healthier.

Generally speaking, Japanese crops are considered to be of "high quality." However, Japan is actually a backward country in the field of organic farming, with only 0.5% of its farmland being organic, compared to 40-50% in Europe, and the amount of pesticides used is among the top two in the world (China is No. 1).

We seriously want to change the current state of Japanese agriculture, starting locally in Aichi Prefecture. Deguchi jokes that "microorganisms are black employees working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (laugh)," and he always tells people around him about the importance of maintaining soil health by utilizing natural microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria instead of agricultural chemicals.

2024: 6 tons (planted on 2 hectares)

2025: 30 tons (area of 10 hectares)

2028: 120 tons (planted on 40 hectares) *We aim to grow 100 hectares in the future.

Crowdfunding has more than doubled its goal!

The current crowdfunding project has raised more than 3 million yen (more than 200% of the goal), far exceeding the initial goal of 1.5 million yen. The project will close on the 20th of this month.
