Background of "Seri in Natori" and "Seri Nabe Festival

The history of seri cultivation in Natori City is long. There is a document that states that wild seri was cultivated in the Genna era (1620), and the spread of seri cultivation began in the An'ei era (1770). The fact that Masamune Date, lord of the Sendai domain, composed a haiku poem about parsley at a renga poetry reading suggests that parsley was a favorite of the Date family.

Natori's auction is known as "Sendai auction" in the market, and its production is one of the highest in Japan. About 80% of the prefecture's production is produced in Natori City.

Seri nabe is characterized by the flavorful aroma and crispy texture of Natori's parsley. Chicken, local vegetables, and other ingredients make up this exquisite nabe, which is packed with flavor.

Please enjoy the authentic taste of this dish made by Natori's seri producers, who have won the Grand Prix at the Sentai Nabe Festival for two consecutive years.

2,000 free servings of "Seri Nabe" (Seri hot pot) using plenty of Natori's specialty "Seri" will be served!

The event will end as soon as all are gone.

Food, drinks, seafood, vegetables, fruits, miso, flowers, and souvenirs will be available for purchase.

There are also free Robata-yaki spaces, where you can grill your purchases and enjoy them on the spot.

The Tohoku-Miyagi Recovery Marathon will be held on the day of the event, and there will be traffic restrictions on surrounding roads.

Yuriage Minato Asaichi is a popular morning market in Yuriage, Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, where fresh local seafood and vegetables are sold. Held every Sunday and national holiday from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the market is a bustling place with about 50 stalls.
