＜What is EMERGENZA?

It is one of the world's largest live contests for independent artists, both professional and amateur, run by EMERGENZA INTERNATIONAL BOARD to build a bridge for Japanese musicians to perform overseas, and if you win, you can perform at an outdoor festival in Germany. If you win the Japan competition, you will be able to perform in the international finals at the open-air music festival "Taubertal Festival https://taubertal-festival.de/" in Rothenburg, Germany. All travel expenses will be covered by EMERGENZA, and the winner of the international final will receive a substantial extra prize, including a main stage where the world's top artists will perform.

<Purpose of the event

This event is one of the few music festivals in Japan that directly connects independent artists to overseas festivals. The current trend in music around the world is to transcend national borders, and to bring good artists directly to the world beyond the conventional framework. Emergenza opens up new possibilities for the Japanese music scene and is a live event that is attracting worldwide attention. "Japan must not miss out on the world!" We want to send talented artists from Japan directly to the world!" This strong desire is what drives us.

<Achievements

In the 2024 season, the young rock band "THE STEREOGANG", mainly composed of students from Kochi University, won the third place in the world and received enthusiastic cheers from the German audience. In 2023, TRAinnovation, which fuses Japanese instruments, violin, and EDM, won the world's top prize. The event has also attracted the attention of the music industry, which has produced many major artists among the past performers. Emergenza has been held for 32 years in the world and 16 years in Japan, and with the exception of the Corona Disaster period, it is important to note that the event has been held for a long period of time.

<Rules

There are no prior sound judging, ticket quotas, or equipment fees. The preliminary and semi-final rounds are won by audience votes at the venue and online (Tokyo and Japan finals only), while the Japan finals are decided by audience votes plus professional jury votes. Other prizes include the German Embassy Prize (for an appearance at the German festival in Aoyama Park), a prize for the monthly opening theme of a terrestrial TV music program next fall, the Best Player Prize, the Best Vocalist Prize, the STUDIO CHAPTER H[aus] Prize (a two-day and one-night recording session in Ibaraki), the Jury's Special Prize, and the Windgate Prize.
