SaunaHax(TM) already has a lineup of four types of sauna stoves, starting with the original wood stove and including the PSE-certified electric sauna stove SaunaHax-e, and is a comprehensive sauna-related company with craftsmen manufacturing each unit at its factory in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. We have already introduced our original wood stove and electric sauna stove to heat the sauna! products to the world. However, the best part of the sauna is the "cold water bath" that rapidly cools the warmed body. Keizo Sato, our sauna director, has already experienced a cold water bath at 0.4°C (with seawater and water flow) during his sauna experience in the Finnish Arctic Circle, and he has been telling people that a hot sauna room and a cold water bath are important conditions for sauna.

Due to the recent heat wave in summer caused by global warming, the summer water temperature of tap water has been rising, and in some places the water temperature can reach nearly 30°C (*2). The water temperature for cold water baths suitable for general saunas is said to be around 15°C (12°C for sauna enthusiasts).

Therefore, we visited a chiller (chilled water) manufacturing plant in China last year and had a series of discussions with them, resulting in the completion of a chiller with an integrated bathtub that meets the Japanese market.

This chiller machine enables a minimum water temperature setting of 3°C, which makes it possible to provide not only cold water baths for saunas, but also ice baths (*3), which have been proven to improve health, reduce inflammation, and enhance immunity, among others.

Introduction of the bathtub-integrated SaunaHax-i

The most important features of SaunaHax-i are

1. cold water bath with a minimum temperature of 3°C

With a minimum temperature setting of 3°C, it can be used not only as a sauna cold water bath, but also as an ice bath (Ice Bath: Cold water Therapy), which has been gaining explosive popularity in the West in recent years. 3°C water temperature, for example, is about the temperature of a bathtub filled with water and several dozen kilograms of ice, which is a water temperature you have to get used to. It is not possible to enter the bathtub without getting used to the water temperature.

Under an ambient temperature of 28°C, it takes about 5 hours to cool water of 23°C to 5°C. Of course, once the water is cooled to the set temperature, it is possible to cool the water to the set temperature. Of course, once the water temperature drops to the set temperature, the chiller stops automatically for safety. The chiller is designed to consume only about 35 yen per hour at 1150W (equivalent to that of an air conditioner for 10 tatami mats), but power consumption is reduced when the chiller stops. 2.
