An original dance music piece has been completed for use in the "Kaiyake YOKAI Festival," a definitive Japanese Halloween event to be held at Toei Movie Village in Kyoto (located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City), which combines traditional yokai culture with modern pop culture. The original dance music was produced by Yuki Hayashi and composed by Takahiro Obata. The duo, active in many fields including animation, dramas, and movies, will express the weird and fun world of yokai.

The original music will be used in the "Kaiyomi YOKAI Dance," a dance time held at the turnaround point of the main event "Uzumasa Hyakki Yagyo" (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons). Visitors can enjoy dancing the Kai-Yokuai Dance with the specters marching in the Hyakki Yagyo to the original dance music.

Born in 1980 / Kyoto, Japan

Former men's rhythmic gymnast, he became inclined to the world of accompaniment music from his music selection as a competitor.

Although he had no musical experience, he began composing music on his own while still in college. After graduation, he learned the basics of trackmaking from hideo kobayashi, and began creating accompaniment music for competitive dance in earnest, incorporating music from a variety of genres and building a unique musical style that emphasizes a sense of unity with the images, based on his sensibilities as a former dancer.

I was asked to produce the music for the "Kaiyobi YOKAI Festival"!

Composer Takahiro Obata has created wonderful music for this strange and fun festival.

I was born in Kyoto, went to Tokyo to study at Toyo University, where I did rhythmic gymnastics without studying and found myself becoming a composer.

I hope everyone will truly enjoy this project.

He started playing keyboard at the age of 4, and became interested in jazz at the age of 14. He studied composition and orchestration under Atsuro Kono, jazz piano under Katsuya Tamura, classical piano under Yukiko Miyazaki, and other skills necessary for performance and composition.

He has been developing his musical activities in a wide range of fields, including composition and performance, and always tries to create music that accompanies the images and stories, regardless of genre.

For example, "Isabella's Song" from the soundtrack of the anime "Yakusoku no Neverland" has received a total of 50 million plays on Spotify.

I was asked to be in charge of the music for Toei Movie Village's "Kaiyomi YOKAI Festival"!

After consulting with Mr. Hayashi, the music producer, we worked out the image of the main theme and tried to create music that would make the yokai dance happily, and also make the audience imagine the fun of the event just by listening to the music!

The rest of the music for the march of the night parade of 100 demons had a slightly comical feel to each character as the specters paraded around, so we tried to create music with a comical feel that was not present in the main theme!

We hope that you will enjoy this enchanting "Kai-Yokuai Festival" and enjoy the music as well.

For two days only, the "Uzumasa Ghost Story Presentation" will be held, following in the footsteps of Edo's "Hyakumonogatari" (100 Tales of the Edo Period), to add a mysterious touch to the evening at the Eiga-mura. Ghost storytellers, who make their living by collecting and recounting tales from all ages and cultures, will tell mysterious, funny, and hair-raising ghost stories.

A bus tour will be held to visit "magical world" spots scattered around Kyoto that are associated with yokai (ghosts). Tour Kyoto with a special "Mononoke Guide".
