Muro Corporation (Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture) has launched a new kitchen tool brand "GRASTONE," and as its first product, GRASTONE POTT, a pot that pursues ease of use and taste with an ideal structure, is now on sale through the Makuake project. The first product is GRASTONE POTT, a pot with an ideal structure that is easy to use and tastes great. Pre-sales will be available until Monday, October 21, 2024.

GRASTONE POTT20 and POTT22

GRASTONE POTT has the following features: (1) lightweight despite its high heat storage capacity like a cast iron pot, (2) easy-to-clean surface finish, and (3) a lid that can stand up and a resin handle that prevents it from getting hot. The pots and pans are designed to be "comfortable to use" and to be "used every day.

This is a product that we hope will be used by those who use cast iron pots and pans because of their great taste, but are concerned about their weight, or those who want to make pots and pans easier to clean.

Background of the project

Food cooked in a cast iron pot tastes great, but it is heavy and difficult to wash, and it is hard to get rid of burnt-on food...and there is no place to put the lid.... With these questions in mind, if there was a pot that was light and easy to clean but could produce the same flavor as a cast iron pot, cooking would be more enjoyable....

So, while comparing cooking with various pots and pans and listening to the opinions of our employees as well as the general public who cook, we began development, drawing on our expertise in automobile parts manufacturing and labor-saving machinery development.

The GRASTONE brand was then born in order to bring truly delicious and easy-to-use pots and pans to the world.

Product Features and Details

(1) Three-layer structure for ideal balance of heat storage and lightness

In order to achieve both heat storage and temperature uniformity similar to cast iron pots and light weight, we chose a three-layer material consisting of stainless steel sandwiched between aluminum, which results in a weight of 1/2 to 1/3 of a cast iron pot of the same capacity compared to a comparable cast iron pot. It is also compatible with induction as well as gas.

(2)Unique "fine ripple finish" on the entire inner surface

In order to lighten the burden of washing the inside of the pot from sticking and burning, GRASTONE POTT has a unique "fine ripple finish" applied to the entire inside surface of the pot. This is a process that prevents food from sticking to the stainless steel surface by creating minute unevenness, which not only prevents food from sticking to the surface, but also makes it easy to remove stains by simply soaking the pot in water. In addition, since "Fine Ripple Finish" is not a coating, it can be scrubbed off with a stainless steel scrubber, etc., even if it gets burnt.

(3)Ceramic coating on the entire outside surface

The outside of the pot has a ceramic coating, which is also used for the cooking surface of frying pans, making it easy to remove stains such as burnt-on food from spills.

(4)Handles that do not get hot even with bare hands

Most cast iron pots and pans have metal handles that require a pot holder, but GRASTONE POTT has handles made of resin material, which prevents the handles from getting hot and makes them easy to hold with bare hands during normal use.

(5) Lid can stand up

A pot with a small lid handle requires either placing the lid directly on the kitchen counter or a plate to put the lid on. The lid handle is made of heat-resistant plastic.

The lid can be stood on a stand with the handle made of heat-resistant resin.

(6) Compatible with waterless cooking

The steam-sealing structure of the body and lid allows for waterless cooking (please cook slowly over low heat).
