株式会社シネマノヴェチェント
Cinema Novecento, Japan's smallest film cinema operated by Cinema Novecento Corporation (located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), will hold two special screenings by director Masahiro Ando: "Stranger" on October 13, 2024 and "Hanasaku Iroha HOME SWEET HOME" on October 14, 2024. The screenings will be held with a talk show by director Masahiro Ando.
Director Masahiro Ando is an outstanding animator who has been highly regarded by many directors and has since moved into directing.
His ambitious attempt to create a full-fledged period drama in animation is now being presented at the "HOME" screening! He was selected to direct "Strangea," an ambitious attempt to create a full-fledged period drama in animation, which was made possible by the concerted efforts of the animation studio BONES, and showed his extraordinary talent to the world.
Since then, he has continued to direct TV and film productions regardless of genre, and his consistent ability has been highly acclaimed both within and outside of the industry.
We are pleased to present two of Ando's representative theatrical films in a special screening with a special event featuring the director.
First is "Strangea," his first film as a director, which still has a devoted fan base 17 years after its release.
Director Ando's love of chambara films is evident in the numerous hard swordplay scenes, which are sure to be a hit with fans of live-action films.
And "Hanasaku Iroha HOME SWEET HOME the Movie," a coming-of-age drama for girls set in a hot spring resort town in Hokuriku.
This second theatrical film, a change from the intense direction shown in the debut film, has a classic flavor with a calm and emotional appeal, showing a glimpse of a craftsman director.
On October 13, director Ando will be invited to give a free and lively talk on "Strangea: The Emperorless Blade Tan.
On October 14, "Hanasaku Iroha HOME SWEET HOME the Movie" invites Director Ando and Art Director Kazuo Tochi for a long talk show.
We will explore the secrets of the fun of Ando's works.
Of course, there will be autograph session, photo session, and reception (additional fee required), so fans of director Masahiro Ando should not miss these two days!
