The "A-bombed Piano" miraculously survived from the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and and "TSUNAMI instruments", which were created from driftwood from the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, will play music for peace.

The Shibuya Peace Concert Executive Committee (Representative: Hajime Kobayashi) will hold a concert on August 22, 2024 (Thursday), using music, a language that can be understood around the world, as a source of communication to convey thoughts of peace from Shibuya.
A concert to transmit thoughts of peace from SHIBUYA, where people gather from all over the world
The committee was formed by members of companies and organizations based in Shibuya, who have been deepening their public and private relationships with each other, and have been searching for a way to send a message from Shibuya, where people gather from all over the world. Taking a cue from the fact that Shibuya Ward, our hometown, has started peace initiatives by enacting the "Peace and International City Shibuya Day Ordinance" in 2019, we held the "Shibuya Peace Concert" for the first time in August of the same year.
However, due to the coronary disaster that followed, the concert was not held again until the following year, but we are finally ready to resume the event.
On the day of the concert, the "A-bombed Piano" miraculously survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and the "TSUNAMI instruments" created from driftwood that was hit by the tsunami in the Great East Japan Earthquake will appear and play music that expresses the "desire for peace from SHIBUYA". The concert will also feature performances by more than 30 artists from 14 groups who have ties to Shibuya and who have endorsed the purpose of the concert.

A piano that was exposed to the atomic bomb at a distance of about 2 km from the hypocenter of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. The pianos were tuned with as many of their original parts as possible, and are still in use as the sound of peace that plays the importance of life.

Stringed instruments made from driftwood from the tsunami generated by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Currently, four violins, two violas, and two cellos have been produced, and they continue to echo their memories around the world.
