What is HH×FRISBEE PRO CLASSIC?

A lot of marine debris continues to drift ashore on the Shiretoko coast riding the ocean currents. This is not only affecting the coastal landscape, but also creating various environmental issues such as micro-plasticization of the litter due to degradation by ultraviolet rays and the impact on the ecosystem due to animals accidentally swallowing the litter.

HELLYHANSEN collects buoys that have drifted ashore in Rusha Bay on Hokkaido's Shiretoko Peninsula, and recycling company Matech Inc. cleans, crushes, and pelletizes them, then commercializes them as Frisbees using the pelletized drifted buoys as raw materials. The Frisbee was created with the hopes that the buoys, which were originally birthed for use in the sea, will be reborn as something to play with in the sea, and that by playing in the sea and by the water, we hope to draw people's attention to the current state of the marine environment.
