Gadget Garage Cafe (located in Mitaka City, Tokyo; President: Hirohiko Ohinata) will hold a "Cat Exhibition" from September 21 to September 30, 2024 at Coccara, a small gallery in Share Place Komoro Bright Base. We are looking for cat-loving writers, artists, designers, hobbyists, etc. to exhibit their works.

Outline of the Call for Entries

Any genre of artwork as long as it uses cats as its subject (no living creatures)

(No living creatures) Crafts, handicrafts, paintings/illustrations, videos, jewelry/accessories, ceramics, haiku, books, etc.

*Only original works are accepted (previously published works are acceptable).

Works may be negotiated and sold (exhibited items will be delivered after the exhibition; similar stock may be delivered during the exhibition).

Submissions for selection

Images of works

Up to 5 images (JPEG or PNG files of 2MB or less to be attached to an e-mail and used for notification purposes)

Work information

Title, material, technique, size, comments about the work (200 words or less), number of works

Applicant Information

Name, artist's name (if any), address, age (grade), telephone number, e-mail address, and media of inspiration

If the applicant is a junior high school student or younger, please include the name of the parent or guardian.

Participation Qualifications

All ages, experience, qualifications, and whether the artist is dead or alive, including the work of the deceased: all are welcome.

　Pre-school children, students of all kinds to general (professional and amateur artists are acceptable)

Participation fee

500 yen - 2,000 yen (see https://gadgetgaragecafe.com/202409neco for details)

*Participation fee is required for each participating piece.

*For three-dimensional works, the fee is for one piece, even if multiple pieces are combined, as long as they fit within the size of the work.

Acceptance/rejection of exhibits

In principle, first-come-first-served basis. After adjustments are made, the exhibitor will be notified by e-mail.

All exhibitors will be announced on the website in late August 2024.

Handling of copyrights

The rights to use images taken by the organizer and submitted images belong to the organizer.
