About Male Menopausal Symptoms

Testosterone, a male hormone, plays a  crucial role in maintaining male physical and mental functions. However, the  amount of testosterone gradually decreases with age. External factors such as  lifestyle and stress also impact testosterone levels. Decreased testosterone is  closely related to conditions such as sarcopenia, which involves muscle loss  and muscle weakness, and also affects the causes and prevention of various  diseases, including angina, arteriosclerosis, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and  dementia. These conditions associated with decreased testosterone are known as  Late Onset Hypogonadism (LOH) syndrome. Reports indicate that about 10% of  middle-aged men in employment suffer from male menopausal symptoms, with a  notable prevalence starting from the late 40s, making LOH a significant social  and economic concern.

LOH manifests in a variety of symptoms  including general fatigue, decreased libido, lack of motivation, ED, difficulty  concentrating, insomnia, irritability, shoulder stiffness, urination problems,  a sense of heaviness in the head, and fewer morning erections. Additionally,  age-related testosterone decline increases the risk of several health issues  such as depression, sexual dysfunction, cognitive decline, cardiovascular  diseases, increased visceral fat, insulin resistance, decreased HDL  cholesterol, and elevated total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol.
