Three Employees of a Large-Scale Condominium Repair Company Receive Obtained First-Class National Drone Certification

Seraph Enomoto Co. (Location: Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Osamu Enomoto; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which focuses on large-scale repair work on condominium buildings, three of its employees have acquired national certification as first-class unmanned aircraft pilots (first-class certification) for drones.

Piloting a drone

Although we specialize in large-scale repair work on condominiums, we have been using drones to survey exterior walls and buildings for about five years now, and currently boast a track record of more than 100 surveys.

As part of our contribution to society, we concluded a drone disaster agreement with Kawaguchi City in 2020, and in 2021, we became a training organization listed on the Civil Aviation Bureau's website.

Three of our employees have now acquired first-class unmanned aircraft pilot certification (first-class qualification), which allows them to fly up to Level 4 (out-of-sight flights in manned areas) of the Level 1 to Level 4 flights specified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism.

We are proud of the fact that employees of a large-scale repair and maintenance company have acquired national drone certification, which is a unique strength of our company. We will continue to conduct safe, prompt, and accurate surveys to the satisfaction of our customers.

Drone survey

Outline and Background of the National Drone Certification Program

On December 5, 2022, the "Unmanned Aircraft Operator Proficiency Certification System (Pilot License System)," a national qualification for drone flight, was launched. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) defines the system as "a qualification system that certifies that an individual has the skills (knowledge and abilities) necessary to fly an unmanned aircraft.

In the past, drones were mainly flown within visual range in unmanned areas, but recently they have begun to be flown out of visual range in manned areas. With these changes, standards for safe flight have become necessary, and drone operators are now required to have a certain level of skill.

Other government aims include improving labor shortages by delivering packages by drone and reducing the burden on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism by simplifying flight applications.
