The ranking of Japan's procurement sector is announced! Who came out on top?

Future Procurement Institute, Inc. (operated by Future Procurement Institute Co., Ltd.), an organization with approximately 20,000 procurement department members nationwide, has selected the "Outstanding Procurement Division".

The evaluation was based on the following two criteria

(1) Excellent procurement category from a professional viewpoint

(2) Excellent procurement category from a quantitative perspective

Assumptions for the survey

Number of members of the procurement department: Approx. 22,900

Number of valid responses to this survey: Approx. 15,000

The survey asked companies, including those in the same industry, "Which procurement and purchasing departments are the best in the eyes of other companies?" The top five were as follows (in no particular order)

Despite procurement difficulties, the company did not delay deliveries and offered new business opportunities, such as proposing alternatives to other companies' products.

Our common supplier said it was excellent.

Many suppliers were excellent, as they had actually done business with us.

The procurement manager understands the technology, which is different from other companies.

(2) [Ranking of companies with the strongest procurement departments based on quantitative evaluation

Using numerical values that can be quantitatively evaluated in financial statements, such as manufacturing cost ratio, inventory ratio, and gross profit margin on invested capital of goods, we evaluated the top five companies as the procurement departments of companies that achieved marked improvement over the previous year, as follows.

Makita Corporation

The above five companies are sectors that have certainly improved their corporate performance, not just sensibly. I will tell you the same as (1).
