Currently, 130 countries around the world are members of GLOBAL G.A.P., but only about 12 Japanese agricultural production corporations have obtained the certification. This is the first certification registration in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture. We will not be satisfied with G-GAP certification, but will continue to work hard to maintain the quality and reliability of our products in line with global standards, and will also work on new business areas throughout the company.

What is GLOBAL G.A.P.?

GLOBAL G.A.P. is a comprehensive Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standard for food safety that is administered by FoodPLUS, a non-profit organization headquartered in Germany, and is capable of inspecting agricultural, livestock, and fishery products worldwide. It is a global standard agricultural certification practiced in more than 110 countries around the world, mainly in Europe, and specifically defines checkpoints for practicing sustainable agriculture (environmentally friendly agriculture), including agricultural product safety management methods and labor safety in agricultural production and handling. To obtain the certification, a farmer must clear all 190 checkpoints, including business operation methods, worker protection, environmental conservation and biodiversity promotion, safety, hygiene, quality, logistics, and resource management, in accordance with global standards.

The first step in this direction was the realization of a "plant factory" that stably produces nutrient-rich vegetables in an environment that does not use pesticides. The "Agreed Kimitsu Plant Factory" provides stable shipments of safe and clean vegetables grown hydroponically in an environment that is unaffected by weather conditions.

In late July, we plan to launch a regular subscription (subscriptions) service for all employees of the Shinshowa Group, providing them with high quality plant vegetables. In the future, we intend to expand the service so that it can be extended to the general public.
