Shingyoji Temple (Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture) will hold a project on the crowdfunding site CAMPFIRE until June 30, 2024 to raise funds for the restoration of its main hall, which was particularly damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
Shin Gyoji Temple, a Jodo Shinshu temple located in a small rural village in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, has been supported by many local Buddhist believers for generations.
Now that lifelines have been restored, the number of people who have returned to the village and are living there is gradually increasing, but there are still many people living in evacuation centers.
Temples have long served as places for local communities where people gather. There are people who want to return to their hometowns but have not yet been able to do so, and there are also people who have no choice but to leave their "hometowns. Under these circumstances, we believe that temples will become important places where people can return anytime, stop by, and gather.
Through the restoration of the main hall (crowdfunding), we want to let as many people as possible know our desire to "continue to protect our hometown" and "keep this temple as a place where people in the community can gather again.
