Honda Technical College Kansai, Honda's automotive college, in collaboration with the Osaka Sayama City Board of Education, will hold an extracurricular summer vacation class, "Let's learn how the car of the future, an electric vehicle, works," on August 6 and 7, 2024, in order to raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among third and fourth graders living and studying in the city. Let's learn how "Electric Vehicles" work" will be held on August 6 (Tuesday) and 7 (Wednesday), 2024.

The purpose of this event is to broaden the world view of automobiles, to imagine the future automotive society, and to understand the connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by learning and experiencing the mechanism of the "electric car", the car of the future, before 5th graders learn about the automobile industry in their social studies class. The extracurricular classes will be held in cooperation with the Osaka Sayama City Board of Education.

Specifically, participants will be challenged to experience things that cannot be experienced in elementary school classes, such as comparing gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles and recharging electric vehicles.

The show car of the Visa Cashup RB Formula One Team, a team that competes in the highest level of four-wheel racing (F1), will also be on special display.

This is an extracurricular summer class where parents and children can learn about the mechanism of the "electric car" of the future, reaffirm the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and enjoy seeing up-close racing machines that are usually unavailable to the public.
