HANATABA Corporation (Office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative: Tae Kawagoe), an art-related planning, production, sales, and classroom management company, has a diverse group of artists from Japan and abroad. The triumphant exhibition will be held at Hiyoko Gallery Tenjin near Shintencho (Fukuoka City) from May 21 to 26, 2024.

The "21st Century Art Borderless Exhibition" has been held at the National Art Center, Tokyo since 2014, and in 2023, the 14th year of the exhibition, approximately 900 works from all over Japan were exhibited and 55 artists received awards. The number of visitors to the exhibition has been increasing year by year to a total of 18,000, and it is a popular exhibition that attracts many visitors every day. Four members of Art Team HANATABA won the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award. In 2022, the first year of participation, they received the Kitamura Prize for Councillors and the Prize for Excellence. Visitors and organizers alike highly praised the works, which were truly borderless in terms of genres and methods of expression, and a representative of this team has also been appointed as a board member of the executive committee from 2023.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is a work of art related to the local area.

The art team HANATABA, launched in Kyushu, will hold a triumphant exhibition at Hiyoko Gallery Tenjin near Shintencho from May 21 to 26. Seven members from Kyushu who have won awards or been selected for prizes will exhibit and sell their works. In the alcohol ink art, the work "Sunlight through the trees" expresses the refreshing sunlight felt on the Koga beach after moving to Koga City, Fukuoka Prefecture after the Kobe earthquake. In obi art, a bag made from a vintage Hakata-ori obi belt, which is no longer woven. In the lace paper cut-outs, visitors can enjoy looking for the words of prayer hidden in the works of Oura Tenshudo, as well as Fukuoka Tower, Yahoo!

One of HANATABA's specialties is "Find the Sign" hidden in the dense paintings. The paintings are too detailed, drawn without drafts using gel ink pens. At the 2023 exhibition, "Flower and Wind," inspired by the rural landscape of Miyazaki, won the Excellence Award. Another is pressed flower art that is so realistic that it could be mistaken for fresh flowers. Many foreigners at the exhibition praised the work, saying, "Amazing! and "Amazing! The "All Genres" pressed flower artwork is an expression of our team. Since there are no boundaries of genre, nationality, years of experience, or gender, the work dares not to add depth, but expresses the characteristics of a free team by arranging flowers of different sizes, colors, and seasons from various angles. The artist is the representative of this team, which works in Fukuoka and Miyazaki, and was awarded the Kitamura Prize of the House of Councilors in 2022.

During the exhibition period, workshops will be held for both children and adults. A pressed flower frame in which pressed flowers can be freely arranged and framed. Alcohol ink art using fluid ink to draw with the wind. Lace paper cut-outs with a pair of small scissors based on a design by Hina Aoyama, a pioneer in lace paper cut-outs. A pianist will also play live music.

Representative's comment: "The high evaluation we received at the public exhibition gave us encouragement for the future. Of the 27 artists in our group, nearly half (12) are from Fukuoka or live in Kyushu, so we decided to hold the triumphant return exhibition in the center of Fukuoka. Since we are usually only able to do what we do with the support of those around us, and since we received such high praise, we chose the theme of the exhibition, "dogwood," which has the floral meaning of gratitude or return. We hope that visitors will enjoy the works of local artists in an extraordinary space and feel more familiar with art, which is often considered too expensive.
