Seraph Enomoto, a pet renovation company, at "Interpet 2024 Fundraising for the East Japan Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

Seraph Enomoto Co. (Location: Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Osamu Enomoto; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which is engaged mainly in large-scale repair work on condominiums and pet renovation projects, visited the East Japan Guide Dog Association (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") in April 2024 and made a donation. The Association presented the Company with a letter of appreciation for its deep understanding and support of the Company's guide dog breeding program.

Prior to the visit, Minebea conducted a fundraising campaign with the cooperation of the association at INTERPET 2024, which was held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 4 (Thu.) to 7 (Sun.), 2024. We set up donation boxes for four days during the exhibition, and on Saturday, June 6, two association staff members visited us with "Akari" (Labrador Retriever), our PR dog, to raise funds and sell charity goods.

Thanks to the warm support of the visitors, the total amount of charity goods sold was 37,250 yen (30% of which will be used to support guide dog training), and the total amount raised during the four days of the exhibition was 225,703 yen. In addition to the above donations, we also brought a donation from our company for a total of 300,000 yen. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who cooperated in raising guide dogs for the blind.

Fundraising at INTERPET 2024

Six employees, including President Enomoto, visited the site. We had the opportunity to listen to a talk about guide dog fostering by the person in charge of the secretariat and public relations group and the director of the secretariat, as well as to interact with "Akari," a PR dog, and tour the kennel.

On the day of the visit

We have long been committed to supporting the visually impaired, and in particular, we have continued to communicate with people from the Guide Dog Association for the Blind in order to promote the development of guide dogs for the blind.

Since 2022, we have also made support for the development of guide dogs one of our SDGs initiatives, and we are further committed to social contribution activities in addition to pursuing profits as a company. We will continue to provide support and further expansion in the future.

Currently, there are nearly 3,000 blind people nationwide who wish to live with a guide dog. However, since the majority of our financial resources come from donations and we operate with the help of volunteers, we do not have a sufficient supply of guide dogs. Since existing guide dog users are given priority, many new users are waiting for a guide dog to become their partner.

Guide Dogs for the Blind East Japan Foundation

Located at 1285 Fukuoka-cho, Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, and adjacent to the Tochigi Prefectural School for the Blind, it is a rare facility among guide dog associations.

In addition to training guide dogs, the facility also organizes tours, "Guide Dog Friendship Day" and "Welcome Day," and other events where people can learn about visual disabilities and guide dogs. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the start of its activities, it is conducting a crowdfunding campaign for the purpose of adding a cenotaph (carrot). (Until May 31, 2024)
