The Niigata Ramen Battle Executive Committee will hold "Dai Tsukemen Haku Presents Niigata Ramen Battle" every weekend from May 11 (Sat) to June 2 (Sun), 2024, at Niigata Furusato Village. A total of seven ramen stores, four from Niigata Prefecture and three supporting stores from outside the prefecture, will participate in the battle, changing places each week for four weeks. Ramen stores in Niigata Prefecture will compete fiercely for the first "Niigata Ramen King" and the 1 million yen prize money. The battle will also be witnessed by many famous restaurants from other prefectures! During the event, the venue will be filled with the excitement of ramen!

Voting method is based on "Deliciousness Satisfaction

The winner is determined not by the number of cups sold, but by the "deliciousness satisfaction level," which is calculated by dividing the number of votes received by the number of cups sold. The finished containers and voting coins are exchanged at the trash station, and the coins are voted into the ballot box of the restaurant where the customer was satisfied with the tastiness. If you are not satisfied with the food, you can vote your coins in the "Unsatisfied" ballot box.

The system does not decide the winner based on the number of cups sold, which reduces the sense of unfairness due to weather and other conditions.

What is the Tsukemen Expo?

One of the largest ramen events in Japan, which started in 2009 in Hibiya, Tokyo. Originally, as the title suggests, it was a "Tsukemen" only festival, but in recent years it has been renamed "Dai Tsukemen Haku Presents" and has produced an event that serves not only Tsukemen but also ramen.

The official X (formerly Twitter) of the Tsukemen Expo has more than 27,500 followers, making it the most followed official X of a ramen event in Japan.
