Meijie Facilitates Construction of In-House System to Manage EC API platform "API-Proxy Router" is now available
株式会社メイジエ
Meijer Corporation (Location: Misato City, Saitama Prefecture; President: Keita Tanaka; hereinafter "Meijie") will begin offering the API-Proxy Router (patent pending), which simplifies API connections with EC platforms, for operators and system development companies that develop their own EC centralized management systems from April 16, 2024. patent pending), which simplifies API connections with EC platforms.
Until now, API connections required learning and development for each EC, as each EC site has a different data format, but by using the API-Proxy Router, differences in data formats and access procedures can be absorbed, and connections to various EC sites can be realized with only one API connection to learn. This reduces the effort required to build API connections in front-end development by 75% or more (for 4 EC sites).
The EC platforms that can be communicated with in this release are Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba, Yahoo! Shopping, and Shopify, and the supported cloud platform is "Sakura VPS" provided by Sakura Internet Inc.

<Purpose of Development
In the past, we have provided centralized EC management software with custom APIs developed for each EC site to client companies with specific needs that cannot be met by the general EC management tools provided by existing ASPs. However, this approach resulted in high development costs, and in addition, the system had to be modified whenever the API specifications for an EC site changed, resulting in maintenance costs from time to time. These issues placed a heavy burden on front-end development and limited the scope of projects that could be undertaken.
To address this issue, we have developed the API-Proxy Router. This innovative middleware responds to changes in the API specifications of EC platforms and essentially eliminates the need for modifications between the API-Proxy Router and the front end. As a result, engineers no longer need to understand the details of API specifications for multiple EC platforms, which significantly reduces the difficulty of front-end development.
By providing this API-Proxy Router as middleware for EC operators, system development companies, and companies that are entrusted with EC management and other operations, we are making it possible for EC operators to easily build efficient systems that match their own needs with far lower capital investment and maintenance costs than have been possible to date. This approach will enable EC operators to easily build an efficient system that meets their needs with much lower capital investment and maintenance costs. Through this initiative, we aim to revitalize the EC market by contributing to the development of services unique to EC operators.

<About the future
Meijie will sequentially expand the target APIs of each EC supported by API-Proxy Router so that it can provide products with new added value to front-end software. In addition, we will continue to study the possibility of applying this system to more business processing processes. By integrating technologies cultivated in Meijie's business domain with new technologies developed through co-creation outside the company, as in the case of this initiative, we will propose new value that only Meijie can provide.
Meijie will utilize the technology and know-how gained through this initiative to contribute to the enhancement of social, environmental, and economic value by supporting the promotion of DX in the distribution industry in general.
