Koshokai Corporation (Head office: Uji-shi, Kyoto; President: Masahiro Tamai), which operates the "Genji no Yu" brand of hot springs, will celebrate its second anniversary on April 15, 2024, with the opening of "Sukkama Genji no Yu," Japan's first town spa that combines a traditional Korean sukkama sauna (charcoal oven sauna) and natural hot spring water for beautiful skin (location: Souraku-gun, Kyoto Prefecture). Sukkama Genji no Yu" (Location: Souraku-gun, Kyoto Prefecture), a therapeutic bathhouse in town that combines natural hot spring water and natural skin care, will celebrate its second anniversary on April 15, 2024.

To commemorate the second anniversary of its opening, we will hold an event, "Service too good to be true: 2nd Anniversary," from Monday, April 1 to Friday, May 31, 2024, to express our gratitude to local residents and members of Sukkama Genji no Yu.

There will be two types of special events, one for Sukkama Genji no Yu members only and the other open to everyone, including free admission tickets, Sukkama invitation tickets, and a "Service is too good to be true" coupon book.

＜What is Sukkama (charcoal kiln sweat lodge)?

Far-infrared rays are emitted in the process of making charcoal by burning sawtooth oak (charcoal wood) in a pulgama (fire kiln), and plenty of heat is accumulated in the pulgama (fire kiln). In Korea, the traditional folk remedy has long been to enter the kiln and take a hot air bath using the residual heat. This is the first reproduction of this traditional Korean authentic sukkama in Japan.

Sukkama is a hot-spring complex featuring a traditional Korean traditional sauna "Sukkama (charcoal kiln sweat steamer)," four types of sweat cells (bedrock baths), a jjimjilbang space with a rest area, natural hot spring (hot spring for beautiful skin), highly concentrated carbonic acid spring, garden sauna, food and beverage, relaxation, and other facilities.

April 15 (Mon.) - 19 (Fri.), 2024: 2nd Anniversary Appreciation Week

Sukkama Genji no Yu members who take a bath with cash during this period will receive a free bath coupon that can be used next time.

The period of use is from Tuesday, May 7, 2024 to Friday, May 24, 2024. Please be sure to bring your DM postcard.

■May 7 (Tue.) - 31 (Fri.), 2024: Coupon book present that is too good to be true to serve.

A variety of coupons are available, including stamp rally coupons for reduced bathing fees, Sukkama discount coupons, and Beniya meal discount coupons.

Each coupon can be used in June and July 2024. Please be sure to bring your DM postcard.

Freshly pounded rice cakes will be served twice, at 13:00 and 15:00. Participation is free.

For those who take a bath and use the Sukkama, we will present you with a Sukkama invitation ticket for use the next time you visit. Anyone can participate as many times as you like.

Invitations can be used from May 7 (Tue.) to May 31 (Fri.).
