Mysec Corporation (Location: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Yasuhiro Mamiya) will begin selling a new product, an outdoor AED storage case (product name: Outdoor AED Life Cabinet), on Saturday, June 1, 2024. This product will be marketed with the aim of ensuring reliable and quick CPR in outdoor emergencies and improving the safety of the entire community.
■Importance of AEDs
AEDs are used in situations where ventricular fibrillation is occurring. In Japan, cardiac deaths are among the highest in the country, with many cases involving ventricular fibrillation. However, the use rate of AEDs is still low, due to the lack of readily available AEDs and uncertainty about how to use AEDs. In addition, the effectiveness of AEDs decreases by 7-10% every minute, making it important to respond quickly in an emergency, and there is a current need for more widespread use and outdoor installation of AEDs. MySec stresses the importance of AEDs being widely recognized and stored in proper conditions.
Features of the Outdoor AED Life Cabinet
The Outdoor AED Life Cabinet features strength against salt damage, high dustproof and waterproof properties, a high design quality, and flexibility in stand design. The case body of this product is made of urethane resin, which makes it more resistant to salt damage than metal cases. Metal cases tend to rust easily and are not suitable for environments such as swimming beaches. In contrast, MIESEC's urethane resin case does not rust and can be safely installed in locations close to the sea. The product has already been used on Miyakojima Island in Okinawa, proving its proven track record. Furthermore, it is IP44 compliant, making it waterproof and dustproof, providing peace of mind that AEDs can be installed outdoors even on rainy days.
■Design of the Outdoor AED Life Cabinet
MySec's outdoor AED life cabinet uses PANTONE 348C (green), the universal color specified by the International Resuscitation Liaison Committee, as its standard color. The rounded design and the heart-shaped glass part make the design both friendly and easy to understand. The stand can be freely printed with information such as addresses and procedures for AED use, supporting the prompt and accurate implementation of lifesaving measures. In addition, a map of the facility can be printed on the stand, contributing to improved convenience for users.
MySec's outdoor AED life cabinets are an important step toward ensuring community safety. By enabling rapid response to emergencies, they protect the health and safety of the entire community. MISEC will continue to make efforts to raise awareness of the importance of AEDs and to realize their proper installation and storage.
