The Association for the Promotion of Breast Cancer Prevention and Medical Care (located in Naka-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Aki Nozawa and Hiromi Maruyama), a general incorporated association promoting breast cancer awareness, will be offering the Breast Care Concierge certification exam to the general public to help establish breast awareness as a lifestyle concept. We are now planning to have the examination for Breast Care Concierge certification held in Japan in June 2024. We are currently accepting applications for the exam until June 7, 2024.

Lecture 1

Background

Breast cancer affects one in nine women in Japan today, and it is said that 90% of women can be cured if the disease is detected early. We hope that many people will acquire the correct knowledge and spread it to those around them, and that we can nurture human resources who can help as many people as possible who are sad or suffering from breast cancer. With this in mind, we have established the "Breast Care Concierge" certification.

Contents

(1) Classroom lecture and practical training/examination

Over the course of two days, participants will attend classroom lectures on breast cancer epidemiology, actual breast cancer screening in Japan, breast cancer treatment, etc., as well as a practical skills training course to teach breast awareness to others.

(2) Follow-up after certification

In order to make use of the qualifications they have learned, the trainees will be responsible for providing guidance on breast self-checks at MISHOP-sponsored medical checkups and other related projects. In addition, the latest information will be shared at the time of qualification renewal every three years to constantly update medical knowledge.

Future Development

Currently, the program is based in Yokohama, but with the introduction of an online system and the expectation that certification holders nationwide will grow as instructors, we will gradually add more locations throughout Japan to support the program.
