LAWSON, INC. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Sadanobu Takemasu; hereinafter "Lawson") will introduce a new cherry blossom-colored hot drink, "Sakura Latte" (380 yen (tax included)), which softly spreads the scent of cherry blossoms at some of its MACHI cafe+ stores. This flavored café latte is made with chocolate derived from natural cherry blossoms, allowing customers to fully enjoy the cherry blossom season.

It will be available at "MACHI cafe+" stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Niigata prefectures from February 27, 2024 (Tuesday).

Sakura Latte

For Japanese people, cherry blossoms are a special flower that heralds the arrival of spring. Nowadays, tourists from all over the world visit Japan to see this beautiful flower. To further enjoy the heart-warming cherry blossom season, which comes only once a year, MACHI cafe+ has developed a special cherry blossom-colored drink, "Sakura Latte," with cherry blossom flavors.

This "Sakura Latte" is a café latte with a strawberry sauce that goes well with cherry flavors, topped with marshmallows and natural cherry-derived chocolate. This café latte is cherry blossom-scented.

Since there are many days when the cherry blossoms are in bloom when the temperature is still cool, the milk temperature is increased to keep the latte cool.

About the "MACHI cafe

LAWSON has been offering "MACHI cafe+", which provides handmade smoothies using fresh bananas and specialty coffees, utilizing the kitchen space inside the stores since September 2022.

At first glance, the "MACHI cafe+" service, in which each cup is handmade and served after receiving an order from a customer, may seem counter to the times, but the business was started in response to the desire of store crews (part-time and part-time) to "talk with customers through hand delivery.

Through communication with customers, we aim to build a relationship with them so that they say, "I came to see you" or "I want to buy from you. Currently, we offer 6 to 10 types of coffee, including smoothies handmade to order and special coffee brewed from ground beans one cup at a time. Since many of our customers visit us on a daily basis, we try to make sure that there is always something fresh to discover no matter when they visit our stores.

We select the stores where we offer our products based on the criteria we have established for their introduction, which are based on the knowledge and skills of our store crew members, who are internally certified as "fantasistas" (*).

As of February 2024, the system has been introduced in 33 stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Niigata prefectures.

*Lawson has had a "Fantasista System" in place since 2012 to recognize staff with excellent coffee-related knowledge and customer service skills to improve customer service and store operations. Currently, more than 20,000 crew members have been certified in the four areas of "customer service," "machikado kitchen," "fast food," as well as "MACHI cafe.
