The "Sweet Potato Expo 2024" will be held for six delicious and enjoyable days surrounded by wonderful sweet potatoes.

The theme of this year's event, the fourth of its kind, is "Appreciation of Sweet Potatoes.

In addition to offering more than 310 kinds of menu items from 33 carefully selected yaki-imo, sweets, and food stores from all over Japan, the main stage at the venue will be filled with entertainment contents, such as a ceremony to appoint the official character of the Sweet Potato Expo and a sweet potato summit battle in which participants compare their carefully prepared sweet potatoes. A popular event that has been well received at commercial and public facilities in 25 prefectures across Japan and has attracted more than 400,000 visitors in total, will be held for the first time at Kakeyaki Hiroba.

At this event, children who have completed the pre-registration process will have the opportunity to work in a "store" that they will open based on their own ideas and sense, or in a "job" such as working for a bank or police department that is responsible for the management of the shopping arcade. In return, they will receive "omusubi currency" and be able to shop as customers. In the process, they naturally learn the thrill and severity of working and how society works.
