Oak Village, a furniture workshop in Hida Takayama First directly-managed store in Kyushu to open in Hakata Hankyu on February 16 (Friday)

Oak Village, Inc. (Head office: Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture; Representative Director: Eiji Ueno) will open its first directly-managed store in Kyushu, Oak Village Hakata, in the Hakata Hankyu department store directly connected to JR Hakata Station on February 16, 2024 (Friday).

Oak Village Co., Ltd. has its head office and workshop in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, and is engaged in a wide range of wood products, from the manufacture and sale of wooden furniture and accessories using domestic timber and natural paints, to the design and construction of wooden buildings using traditional construction methods.

The opening of the new "Oak Village Hakata" is one of the commemorative projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company's founding in 1974, and to provide the people of Kyushu with a wide range of products manufactured under the philosophy of "coexistence with the environment" and "wood grown over 100 years should be usable for 100 years," which the company has upheld since its founding in 1974. In the store space of approximately 20 tsubos (about 1.5 square meters), a wide range of Oak Village furniture will be on display, including a variety of Japanese solid wood table sets, sofas, chairs, shelves, desks, and other living and dining furniture, as well as custom-made tables made from single pieces of wood that are over 200 years old.

In addition to furniture, the exhibition will also feature approximately 200 other major products, including non-furniture accessories such as wooden toys, wooden stationery, lacquered tableware, and "yuica," a Japanese forest aroma produced from the viewpoint of forest environment preservation.
